This book is amazing, but it was a bit slow, and does anyone know if there is a series?

In the part of the book when the old man is talking to Santiago and telling him the story of the boy and the castle, and the first time he walks through he only focuses on the oil, and misses the beauty of the castle, but the second time when he walks through he sees how beautiful the castle is but loses all the oil, it reminded me of Matthew 6:24 "No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money."

This book was really slow in the beginning but once I got into the book a little more I started trying to imagine leading a life like the boy. Then I realized that the boy even though he already knew his Personal Legend if not for all the people he mat on the way he would have never followed it through. That made me think. Then I realized that it really does "Take a village to raise a child".

The Alchemist taught me to listen to my heart and trust God. Even though the boy went through many rough times he still trusted in God and listened to his heart. If we listen to God and do what he wants we will reach our treasure, heaven.

I actually really loved this book. my favorite part was when Santiago described meeting Fatima and how his love for her was so strong. My new favorite quote is from Fatima: "She will send her kisses through the wind hoping the wind would touch the boy's face telling him exactly what she wanted to say."
